The guy who sold me !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . We chatted. He asked me how my job is going. I asked about his. He told me how he’s flying out to Vegas for a wedding. This girl he met the other night came home with him and made him dinner for him. The next day, she comes in to his dealership and drops cash on an LS460. She decided she’s going to Vegas with him and bought herself a ticket. Sounds like a winner.

So, what did he want? He just told me to stop by next time I’m in the neighborhood, and he’ll have my car washed up nice. Maybe show me this place he knows for good deep dish (which is hard to find in Texas).

I’m not sure, tbh. We used to have an Uno in North Dallas many years back, and that’s the closest thing I’ve ever seen here. I think I pretty much have to make it myself if I want it.

It would be a find to have a local joint that does a good job with deep dish in Dallas. I don’t eat it often but I do like it.

When properly done, I don’t think most people’s GI systems are heavy duty enough to handle it on a regular basis. You’d think with all the migrating generations of northerners here, someone who knows how to make it would have set up shop, but alas no. Same thing with Italian pastry.

I’ve known a lot of people who escaped Chicago and threatened to open up a pizza, or hot dog, or Italian Beef joint in their new city, but not one of them has followed through.

I love cooking but yeah that industry is rough. These are all people like you and me with other careers, but like to cook/eat - the idea sounds good as long as you don’t actually think it through.

Moved to Indy when I was 8 and grew up there. Chicago is my second favorite city in the world. Also, I’m half Italian and kind of feel that Chicago is a cultural focal point in the Midwest, for food at least.
